Post-Op
Post-op visit to the RE went well, and I am feeling awesome, except 10 pm has mysteriously become my hard and fast bedtime. I got to see pictures of my insides, and it's kinda weird for things to look exactly like you thought they would. I mean, ovaries? Look exactly like eggs. Oblong and white. Our next step is kinda odd. I've been put on diabetic medicine. Seem the PCOS problem with my ovaries is related to insulin resistance, so if we can get that under control, my ovaries are more likely to behave. The medicine interferes with your absorption of carbs and fats, which means if I eat too many of them, I could certainly cure my constipation in a hurry. The bad thing is I'm not supposed to be losing any weight, and this drug is geared to help you lose weight. It also can contribute to anemia, which I have a little bit of a problem with anyway. I'm on vitamins and such though, so I'm hoping things go well. After a month of being on the diabetic drug and birth control pills, we will do a mini-stim cycle. That uses a combination of oral and injectible hormones, rather than shots all the way. I'm glad about that. We'll try that for three months, then on to the shots every day if we need to. If needed, we'll try three months of that, then on to IVF, but the Doc said she didn't feel we'd get to that point. I hope she's right! This is the week that we review the new girl on her 30 day extension of her 90 day probation period. Wish me luck, and my boss lucidity.
